Year of Establishment

JEWELS Association was established in 2015 under the Overseas Education College (OEC), Jiangsu University as a non academic student's association.

Aims and Objectives

· To unite all female OECians of Jiangsu University into one supportive family built on love and sisterhood.

· To promote multicultural diversity and cultural exchange among students.

· To create a safe platform for dissemination of information on feminine health and welfare.

· To provide mentorship and leadership opportunities through seminars and conferences.

· To promote active participation of students in women empowerment programs.

· To support the emotional, academic, and social wellbeing of international female students.

Primary Focus for Membership

JEWELS Association mainly serves female international students at Jiangsu University while welcoming supportive members interested in women empowerment and multicultural diversity.

Eligibility for Membership

· All female international registered student of Jiangsu University may apply for membership.

· Members must respect the constitution and regulations of the association.

· Members should actively participate in meetings, activities, and programs.

· Executive members must demonstrate professionalism and accountability.

Leadership Structure

Duties and Responsibilities

Head of Association

· Serves as the authorized signatory of the association.

· Represents JEWELS in institutional and official matters.

· Oversees all committees and activities.

· Ensures enforcement of the association constitution.

· Presides over meetings and acts as tie-breaker during voting.

General Secretary

· Acts as second authorized signatory.

· Records minutes and maintains official documents.

· Coordinates communication among members.

· Assumes leadership responsibilities in the Head of Association’s absence.

Health & Welfare Officer

· Promotes health awareness and welfare support.

· Coordinates health-related events and campaigns.

· Heads the Health & Welfare Committee.

Academic Coordinator

· Represents academic interests of members.

· Organizes seminars and mentorship programs.

· Collaborates with academic associations.

Sports & Talent Coordinator

· Coordinates sports and talent activities.

· Encourages participation in recreational programs.

· Heads the Sports and Talent Committee.

Publicity and Organizing Officer.

· Manages promotion and publicity of JEWELS events.

· Creates posters and social media announcements.

· Coordinates media communication.

· Plans and coordinates all association activities.

· Ensures smooth running of programs and logistics.

· Works with committees during event implementation.

MAJOR EVENTS

PINKY OCTOBER(BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH)

A signature awareness initiative organized by JEWELS Association every October to promote breast cancer awareness, women's health education, and emotional support for survivors and fighters. The event includes health talks, awareness walks, pink-themed campaigns, educational seminars, and wellness activities aimed at encouraging early detection, self-examination, and community support for women's health.

LADIES DEBATE

An interactive intellectual platform organized by JEWELS Association to encourage female students to confidently express their opinions on social, academic, cultural, and women-related issues. The event promotes critical thinking, public speaking, leadership, teamwork, and respectful dialogue while empowering women to use their voices in discussions that impact society and student life.

AEROBICS AND FUN

A recreational and wellness-centered event organized by JEWELS Association to promote physical fitness, mental wellbeing, teamwork, and social interaction among students. The event features aerobics sessions, fitness challenges, interactive games, and group activities designed to encourage healthy living, stress relief, unity, and active participation within the student community

LADIES IN ENGINEERING

An academic and empowerment initiative organized by JEWELS Association to inspire and support female students pursuing careers in engineering and related STEM fields. The event provides a platform for networking, mentorship, innovation, and knowledge sharing through panel discussions, workshops, guest speakers, and interactive sessions aimed at encouraging women to excel confidently in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CULTURAL EVENT

A collaboration with Diversity Club event to teach students about Chinese culture and sharing memories on favorite China experience

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND PERSONAL HYGIENE

An educational and awareness-based initiative organized by JEWELS Association to promote proper hygiene practices, environmental cleanliness, and healthy living among students. The event focuses on topics such as personal hygiene, sanitation, waste management, disease prevention, menstrual hygiene awareness, and maintaining a clean and safe environment through seminars, campaigns, and community engagement activities.
