Founded in 2011, the Overseas Education College (OEC) of Jiangsu University is the university's dedicated administrative body for international students. It also incorporates the “Belt and Road” College of International Talents and the College for International Organization Talents. Jiangsu University (JSU) stands among the first 27 universities in China to receive the Quality Accreditation for Higher Education of International Students. In 2023, JSU was re-accredited with a distinguished 'A' rating - a recognition granted to only seven universities in the initial re-accreditation batch nationwide and making JSU the sole recipient in Jiangsu Province - securing an eight-year validity period. As a designated institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship and a key partner in the "Study in Jiangsu" Program, OEC has been consistently honored as an 'Advanced Collective for International Student Education in Jiangsu Province' and received the "Outstanding Contribution Award for International Student Education in Jiangsu Province" in 2024.

OEC offers a robust academic portfolio, including 23 English-taught undergraduate programs, 42 master's degree programs, and 15 doctoral degree programs, with the latter two offering instruction in both Chinese and English. The enrollment of degree-seeking international students consistently ranks among the top in Jiangsu Province, with a diverse student body from 122 countries across five continents. The proportion of postgraduate students is steadily maintained at over 50%. As of October 2023, the college offers over 1,200 English-taught courses. Among them, 4 have been awarded the title of Brand English-taught Courses by the Ministry of Education, 25 have passed the acceptance inspection for the construction of excellent English-taught courses in Jiangsu Province, and 4 have been approved as outstanding courses for Chinese national conditions education for international students in Jiangsu Province. One "Base for Social Practice Activities of Chinese and Foreign Youth" was approved by the China Education Association for International Exchange, and four cases were selected as "Study in China" Typical Cases in International Student Education Management.

OEC has pioneered a “Dual-Engine, Dual-Ability” cultivation model for international students. A comprehensive scholarship system is in place, featuring the Chinese Government Scholarship, Scholarship for International Chinese Language Teachers, Jiangsu Provincial Government Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, OEC Scholarship, Outstanding Student Scholarship, Social Contribution Scholarship, and various enterprise scholarships.

Since 2023, focusing on the central theme of high-quality development in international student education, OEC has vigorously implemented six strategic initiatives: attracting high-quality student sources, enhancing educational quality, pioneering national conditions education, upgrading branded activities, strengthening advantaged disciplines, and improving efficiency through cost reduction and revenue growth. These efforts have ensured the college's steady advancement and earned it a strong social reputation.
