Aims:
Promote and enhance the professional development of its members in the areas of business management, economics, and entrepreneurship. IBSA is committed to the academic and career development of its members to enrich their university student experience. We focus on providing information on the importance of international business to meet current standards and develop solutions to challenges in global business for all business students.
Objectives:
1. Social activities involving real businesses.
2. Interaction with local employers and employees.
3. Seminars hosted by professional guest speakers.
4. Forums on hot business issues.
5. Workshops to target a specific skill or ability.
6. Network with professional /Job Fairs.
7. Tours and shadowing of local companies.
8. Updates on local and international financial and economic issues.
9. Community service programs.
10. Mentorship programs.
Primary Focus for Membership:
General Participation and Membership
l Any student enrolled at Jiangsu University, irrespective of their academic discipline or level of study, shall be eligible to participate in events and activities organized by the Association.
l Full membership rights—including voting rights and eligibility for executive office—shall be exclusively conferred upon students enrolled in programs specializing in Management, Finance, Business Administration, Trade, or Economics.
l To be considered a candidate for any position within the Association, applicants must: (a) submit a completed candidature registration form; (b) be free from any disciplinary sanctions; and (c) adhere to the requirements specified by the university.
Major Events:
The International Business Students Association (IBSA) organizes a range of activities to prepare students for the professional world. These events may encompass lectures, seminars, workshops, recruitment fairs, industry exhibitions, or other activities pertinent to the business sector and professional skill development. Below is a summary of the main events carried out.
1. Campus to Career – Empowering Future Professionals with Strategy and Confidence: A dynamic workshop blending academic rigour with practical professional perspectives, featuring a panel discussion to equip students with strategic tools and confidence for career transition.

Commercial Law in Entrepreneurship: An academic event addressing key legal aspects for entrepreneurs, including electronic platform regulations, intellectual property, commercial contracts, and dispute resolution within Chinese Civil and Commercial Law.

Business Growth & Opportunities on Chinese Social Media: A seminar demystifying Chinese social media platforms (WeChat, Douyin, Little Red Book) and providing practical strategies for leveraging them in international business growth.

Brand & Influence Conference: A masterclass exploring the intersections of personal branding, digital influence, and professional leadership, featuring an expert in strategic branding and influence communication.

Living and Thriving in China: An event providing business students and the wider community with the opportunity to engage with academic experts, bridging academic theory and real-world practice.

Dual Sprint Challenge: Build & Battle: Groups selected topics, presented pro and con arguments, and answered panel questions. This debate format helped students engage deeply with real business and professional issues.

Mini Startup Challenge: An interactive event where participants form startup teams to compete in three rounds of entrepreneurial problem-solving, fostering creativity, teamwork, and engagement.

CV & Flawless First Impression: A workshop designed to help graduating students create professional CVs and develop strong interview presence. The session covered the essential do’s and don't s of CV writing, along with practical tips on making a confident and lasting first impression during interviews.

Positions & Duties/Responsibilities:

The Head of the Association:
Leads the association, oversees all activities, and represents IBSA in official matters.
Main Duties:
l Lead and supervise the entire association.
l Develop goals, strategies, and annual plans.
l Coordinate with all officers and committee members.
l Represent IBSA in official events and communications.
l Ensure smooth teamwork and decision-making.
l Approve major activities, events, and collaborations.
The Deputy Head of the Association:
Supports the Head of the Association and helps manage and coordinate the team.
Main Duties:
l Assist the Head of the Association in leadership tasks.
l Monitor progress of ongoing projects and activities.
l Support coordination between departments.
l Step in for the Head when required.
l Help solve internal challenges and maintain team efficiency.
The General Secretary:
Handles administration, meeting records, schedules, and internal communication.
Main Duties:
l Record meeting minutes and maintain official documents.
l Manage schedules, notices, and internal communications.
l Keep records of members and activities.
l Prepare reports and organizational documents.
l Ensure smooth administrative operations.
Entrepreneurship Coordinator:
Organizes entrepreneurship activities and promotes innovation and business opportunities for students.
Main Duties:
l Organize entrepreneurship-related events and workshops.
l Promote innovation and startup culture among students.
l Connect students with business opportunities and resources.
l Coordinate competitions, training sessions, and networking events.
l Support members interested in entrepreneurship and leadership.
Organizing Secretary:
Plans and coordinates events, logistics, and activity arrangements.
l Plan and organize association events and activities.
l Coordinate event logistics and schedules.
l Manage venue preparation and event operations.
l Work with other officers to ensure smooth execution.
l Monitor timelines and task completion for activities.
Publicity & Welfare Officer:
Manages promotion, social media, member engagement, and student welfare.
l Promote IBSA events and activities through media and publicity.
l Manage social media, announcements, and marketing materials.
l Encourage member participation and engagement.
l Support student welfare and positive team relationships.
l Help create an inclusive and supportive association environment.
