ASSOCIATION NAME

CHINA-AFRICA RELATIONSHIP THINK-TANK

YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT

CART has been operating since 2018.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Association shall be;

  1. To strengthen the relationship between universities and Africa stakeholders.

  2. To facilitate access to African market to Chinese companies.

  3. To facilitate training and development of skills of Jiangsu University’s students through internship.

  4. To promote the Africa-China heritage in Jiangsu University.

  5. To do any other activity as approved by members at Annual General Meeting (AGM).

PRIMARY FOCUS FOR MEMBERSHIP

(a) Our membership is open to countries involved in One Belt, One Road initiative.

(b) Any student who has interest in agricultural mechanization shall be eligible to become a member of the Association subject to the approval of an Executive Committee.

(c) Any Agricultural farmers who deem it necessary to adopt mechanization as agent of change in production shall also be considered eligible to become a member subject to the approval of Executive Committee.

MAJOR EVENTS (2025-2026)

A. An Academic Seminar on “A Critical Reflection on My Country’s Educational System through Inspirations from China’s Experiences”. This event was a book reeding of “The Governance of China” Vol IV.

B. An enterprise visit program for international students in collaboration with the Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone (ZETDZ).

POSITIONS & DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. HEAD OF ASSOCIATION

The head shall:

Ø Provide strategic advice and guidance to the board members to ensure that appropriate events are organized.

Ø Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of board members.

Ø Provide motivation to derive maximum performance.

Ø Preside over all meetings and any other activities and functions of CART.

Ø Be the official spokesperson of CART.

Ø Approve all expenditures.

2. DATABASE COORDINATOR

The database coordinator shall

v Collect, review and update the membership database.

v Maintain a skills and expertise profile for each member and CART alumni.

v Record accurate minutes of all leadership meetings and general membership meetings.

v Maintain CART's master events calendar, recording all planned activities and university engagements.

v Maintain a central repository of reference materials and all research outputs produced under the CART banner.

3. RESEARCH COORDINATOR

The research coordinator shall:

Ø Assist in recruiting and coordinating members on research projects.

Ø Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research.

Ø Assist to promote research capacity building among members.

Ø Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining data collection and analysis.

Ø Update members on current research areas.

Ø Perform any other duties as assigned by the head of association.

4. PUBLICITY AND WELFARE OFFICER

The Publicity and Welfare Officer shall:

Ø Develop and implement public relations programs as approved by CART management board,

Ø Write media releases concerning upcoming events and individuals’ achievements.

Ø Coordinate with other officers to organize an event.

Ø Perform any other duties as assigned by the head of association.

5. INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR

The internship coordinator shall:

Ø Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating an internship program.

Ø Assist in assigning interns to various companies and managing site supervision.

Ø Act as the liaison between the members and the company.

Ø Assist in recruiting students and advertise internship opportunities.

Ø Attend internship meetings convened by the College and share the necessary information with the members.

Ø Perform any other duties as assigned by the managing director.

6. PROMOTOR OF POLICIES & PHILOSOPHIES

v Promote policies and philosophies that strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding between African and Chinese students.

v Encourage cultural exchange activities that foster unity, respect, and collaboration within the association.

v Educate members on the association’s values, vision, and principles regarding China–Africa relationships.

v Work with other executives to develop initiatives and policies that support academic, social, and professional growth among members.
