Dear students,

If you are applying for Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) from a Chinese embassy or consulate in your country to study at Jiangsu University (JSU), please read the following information carefully:

I. Requirements

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, be in good health and meet health standards.

2. Good character, abide by Chinese laws and school management regulations, respect local customs.

3. Having corresponding academic credentials.

3.1 Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma.

3.2 Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree.

3.3 Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree.

4. Other condition required by CSC.

II. The Process

1. Check if JSU has the major you want to apply for.

For CSC programs, bachelor programs are taught in Chinese, while postgraduate programs are generally taught in English or Chinese.

2. Submit application materials to obtain a Pre-Admission Letter.

2.1Undergraduate students:Send the materials in digital form to the e-mail address of the Admission Office.

2.2Postgraduate:Contact a supervisor from the preferred major and get anAcceptance Letterfrom a supervisor. If the embassy needs aPre-Admissionnotice, contact the Admissions Office with the supervisor’sAcceptance Letter. (Please refer to the attachment for the supervisors’ contacts)

III. The Documents List for Pre-admission Letter

1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) application form. The code in the form is provided by the embassy or consulate. The code isNOT10299.

2. Highest degree certificate and transcript.

3. Other materials required by the postgraduate supervisor.

IV. Other

1. Both the Acceptance Letter and Pre-admission Letter shall not be used as proof of final admission by JSU;

2. Please submit the complete set of documents as required by the Chinese embassies and consulates regarding CSC scholarship application materials.

3. We stop issuing Pre-admission Letter when the Chinese embassies and consulates close the applications for 2020 CSC scholarship.

4. Students who are applying for CSC scholarship under category “B” through Jiangsu University, should follow the university’s website for the further information.

5. The applicants who receive pre-admission letter but fail to get the CSC scholarship can still apply for Jiangsu Presidential Scholarship.
