Notice of The 15th "Challenge Cup"

To whom it may concern:

In order to get prepared for the 15th " Challenge Cup "which is a competition aboutextracurricular academic work of science and technology,we are collecting works from teachers and students to select candidates.

1. Work eligibility requirements

1) Candidates who are eligible to declare the entry include all full-time undergraduate, master's graduate students and doctoral students who officially registered before July 1, 2017.

2) Entries can be in the form ofindividual or collective works.

For one thing, if candidate declare individual works, he/she is supposed to be the first author written inworks identification certificates, patent certificates, and relevant results. Collaborator shall not exceed two.

Plus, if authors outnumber three, or the first author cannot be distinguished. The work shall be declared collectiveinstead.

3)Competitionworksare categorized into three types, respectively natural Sciences academic papers, investigation report of social philosophy and social science, andacademic papers, science and technology invention.

Furthermore, science and technology inventions are categorized into A and B, whilecategory Arefers toworksof hightechnology content,and substantial production input,categoryB refers to works with small production input as well as gadgets and inventions which can bring convenience toproduction technologies and social life.

4) Investigation reports of social philosophy and social scienceshould be limited to six disciplines including philosophy, economy, society, law, education, management.

5) The category of philosophy and Social Sciences entries, each paper is required to be in less than 8000 words while each survey report in less than 1,5000 words.

2. Incentives

To further enhance the enthusiasm of participants,

1) About financial rewards

a) For preliminary 30entries, candidates would be awarded CNY 10,000 respectively. This means candidates would have entered “Challenge Cup" competition and this project would be listed as one of major research projects in 2016.

b) For the semi-final 10entries , candidates would be awarded an extra subsidy of CNY5,000.

c) For the final 6 entries,another additional subsidy of scientific research fundsof CNY5,000is awarded.

2) Certain amount of cash will be give to achievers who have obtained the national and provincial awards, which is listed as follows: Grand Prize CNY 40000; the First Prize CNY 20000; the Second Prize CNY 5000.

3. Works Screening Schedule

a) From now until June 2nd, 2016, it is time for work registration and primary selection.

b) In prior to July in 2016,30alternative entries would be selected and determined as major projects.

c) In prior to December in 2016,10works would be further selected as prospective entries.

d) In prior to March in 2017,9works would be eligible to participate in the “Challenge Cup” Competition in Jiangsu province. After that,6works would be identified according to competition results.

e) In prior to May in 2017, 6 entries would be submitted to national competition. Preliminary review is due in June and July, pre-review in August and September, national final notice Issued in September, finals in October.
