Teaching Plan for the International Undergraduates in the 2nd Semester of the 2021-2022 Academic Year

For English-taught Undergraduates

1. The new semester will start on February 21st, 2022 and all international undergraduates are required to attend online teaching from February 21st, 2022 to March 6th, 2022. The offline classroom teaching shall resume from March 7th, 2022 for students in China and online teaching will continue for students outside China. For the freshmen, the start time will be announced later.

2. Before the start of the course, students will be required to join the WeChat or QQ teaching groups established by their course teachers (Or: the teaching groups for the same course and teacher of the last semester).

3. Three teaching forms will be adopted in the new semester. Specifically, online teaching will be adopted according to the course teachers’ arrangements or if all the students of the course are outside China. If the students of the course are all in China, online teaching will be adopted for the first 2 weeks after the new semester begins (from February 21st, 2022 to March 6th, 2022) and offline classroom teaching shall be resumed two weeks later (from March 7th, 2022). For the course whose students are partially outside and partially in China, the method of “offline classroom teaching + simultaneous live/recorded broadcasting” will in principle be adopted. In any case, students should follow the arrangements of the course teachers.

4. The course teachers should, through the WeChat or QQ work group or the online teaching platforms (e.g. Ding talk, Yu Classroom, Tencent Class, Tencent Meeting, Tencent QQ, etc.), announce the teaching arrangements, teaching objectives, teaching outlines, teaching progress, teaching materials, reference books, and assessment methods, etc.

5. Online/ offline make-up exams for the last semester (2021-2022-1) will be arranged for those who are in and outside China within the first week of the new semester. The form of the final exams in the new semester will depend on the way the course is taught and the students will be informed beforehand. If students can take part in neither offline nor online teaching, they will have to apply for a postponement.

6. Online practice (experiment) teaching, if feasible, will be organized by means of video recording and virtual simulation. Otherwise, these courses will be postponed. In both cases, the students will be notified in advance. The MBBS students who are in China will carry out their internship as scheduled and those who are outside China are required to serve as interns at a local comprehensive hospital with the approval of the Medical Department of Jiangsu University.

7. For online teaching courses, students are required to make full use of the after-class online discussion and Q&A organized by their course teachers each week.

8. The arrangement of graduation project (thesis) will be made online if the graduating students are still outside China before the end of the new semester.

For Chinese-taught Undergraduates, please wait for the notice from the Academic Affairs Department of Jiangsu University.
