This workshop is an introduction to the basics of the SPSS statistical software package. SPSS is one of the most important programs to learn for conducting research in social and scientific disciplines. The workshop presents some important applied methods in statistics and is designed for beginners to SPSS and for intermediate users who need a refresher in the use of the software; no programming knowledge and/or experience is expected.

We will begin with an overview of the SPSS interface, including installing the program, data entry, types of variables, and an overview of how to manipulate the data We will then cover examples of descriptives, comparing means and data analysis, including t-tests, ANOVA, regression and dimension reduction

– Presenting how to edit data, analyze data, and explain the output.
