Dear OEC students, 

Scholarship of “Outstanding Overseas Students Studying in China” is an one-year funded scholarship launched by China Scholarship Council. According to the notice of the Ministry of Education, the China Scholarship Council will support the outstanding overseas students of different Chinese universities in the coming 2018-2019 academic year, details are as follows: 

1. Candidates of self-funded Undergraduate students:

a) full-time undergraduates in their second-year or above.

b) Quota allocation: 7 students. (total 438 in China)

c) Scholarship amount: one-off scholarship, the total of RMB¥18,000/person. 

d) This scholarship cannot be compatible with Chinese Government Scholarship, Jiangsu Provincial Jasmine Scholarship.

2. Candidates of all degree students:

a) Degree students (undergraduates and postgraduates) in their second-year or above. Those students who got CSC scholarship are also included.

b) Quota allocation: 3 students at most (total 162 in China). 

c) Scholarship amount: undergraduates with the total of RMB¥18,000/person; postgraduates with the total of RMB¥30,000/person. 

d) Students will be judged by the secretariat of China Scholarship Council. 

3. Requirements for applicants: 

a) Undergraduate students who won the second-class scholarship or above; postgraduate students who have good learning and research ability. 

b) Students who are friendly with China and have outstanding performance in China. 

c) Students who obey the laws of China, the regulations of JSU and OEC (no punishment in 2017-2018 academic year), with good morality and high contribution to JSU, OEC and our students. All fees have been cleared. 

d) Students who actively participate in social, campus and sports activities; students who promote the spread of traditional Chinese culture or cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and make significant contributions to public welfare; priority will be given to those who make outstanding deeds.

e) Students from financially disadvantage families will be given the priority if competed on equal conditions. 

4. Application Materials: 

A. Paper Application Materials: The filled-out Application Form of 2018-2019 CSC “Outstanding Overseas Students Studying in China” Scholarship. (attachment)

B. The personal summary of your study/research, school life and activities. 

C. An article about “My Story in China”. The content of this article should focus on the experiences and feelings that are deeply remembered during the study and life in China. It requires a personal experience and gratitude. The writing language is English or Chinese, and the number of words should not be less than 800 words.

5.TheSelection Process: 

A. Before 5:00pm on 25^th May, qualified students should submit application materials to class teachers. 

B. Before 11:00am on 28^th May, class teacher selection and recommendation.

C. At 9:00am on 29^th May, JSU interview, evaluation and selection. 

D. During 29^th May-4^thJune, publicization. 

E. Secretariat of China Scholarship Council evaluation. 

After publicization, the final candidates should go to OEC students’ affairs office and find Ms Gao to help you log in laihua.csc.edu.cn, fill and submit soft application on 4^thJune. Students who cannot complete the soft application submission process are automatically regarded as giving up.
