Confucius Institute Scholarship Notice: Selecting Outstanding Students in China
According to China’s decision on Opening Education to the Outside World in the New Era and the Development of National Education Plan in “13th Five-Year” and other relevant documents, the Confucius Institute Scholarship Program is established for outstanding international students in China, in order to further implement the Confucius Institute Development planning (2012-2020).
The Scholarship is based on:
1. Innovating and developing the functions of Confucius institute scholarship.
2. Promoting the "common sense of the people" at home and abroad.
3. Enlarging the establishment and influence of Confucius institutes in the countries along the belt and road.
The Scholarship is highly competitive and only 400 undergraduates and 200 master's degree students will be chosen from all the Universities in China.
The related requirements are notified as follows:
1.Application conditions:
(1) Student who come from countries along the belt and road countries and pursuing full-time degree programs in China(bachelor or master degree) and whose majors are in Literature, History, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Education, Management, etc.
(2) Second grade and above.
(3) Applicants must have excellent academic performance, strong learning and research ability (provide academic performance certificate/transcript of last term).
(5) Have a friendly attitude towards China and excellent performance in China.
(6) Actively participate in various social practice activities.
(7) Have HSK certificate.
(8) Must not be enjoying any other scholarships.
(9) Under the same conditions, those with difficult family economic conditions will be given priority.
2. Application process:
(1) Students who meet the requirements of each school are eligible to register through the Confucius institute scholarship website (cis.chinese.cn).
(2) The school selects qualified applicants and reports the candidates to headquarters.
(3) The headquarters will review the applications and issue a list of winners to the Universities.
3. Funding standards and scale:
According to the Confucius Institute scholarship fee standard, successful students will enjoy fee support for one semester (6 months) beginning with the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year(including tuition, accommodation, living expenses) and as follows undergraduates 29,600 yuan / person; graduate students 35,100 yuan / person.
Registration Deadline: All registration process must be completed latest by December 10 on the student registration scholarship website. Late registration will not be accepted.
