To promote cultural exchange, deepen international friends’ understanding of Jiangsu, encourage international friends to have better understanding of everyday lives of people, and facilitate their integration into Jiangsu’s cultural and social construction, the Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, the Xinhua Daily Media Group, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Literature and Art Circles have jointly organized the “International Views, New Horizons – International Friends’ View of Jiangsu” Photography Competition.

Officially launched on September 20.Participating Qualification: International Friends who are currently or have ever studied, worked, traveled, or lived in Jiangsu.

Competition Theme:

International Views, New Horizons - Displaying the image of a "strong, wealthy, beautiful, highly-civilized and new Jiangsu" through the eyes of international friends and create a favorable social environment of an open Jiangsu.

he photographs are required to be taken in Jiangsu between January 1st, 2010 and December 1st, 2016. The ones taken outside of Jiangsu but including elements of Jiangsu are also acceptable;

Photograph Wanted:

Recording the stories of international friends studying, living, and fulfilling their dreams in Jiangsu;

Recording the stories of international friends working, starting businesses, and making contributions to the development of Jiangsu;

Recording the stories of the friendly exchanges and deep friendship between international friends and the citizens of Jiangsu;

Displaying the beauty of Jiangsu’s natural landscape;

Displaying Jiangsu’s people, culture and customs;

Displaying the economic development and society construction of urban and rural Jiangsu;

Displaying the living conditions and scenes of people living in Jiangsu from international;

Displaying the living conditions and scenes of the international friends in Jiangsu.

No restrictions on subject matter, format, or style. Black&white or color photographs taken by either cellphones or cameras are all admissible, and there are no limits to the number of photographs. Photographs, however, cannot have watermarks, logos and names, or be spliced. Otherwise the photographs are invalid; JPG format is required. The size of a single photograph cannot exceed 10 megabytes. The deadline for submission is December 1st.

Prizes:

1 Special Award, 8000 RMB;

2 First Prize, 5000 RMB;

5 Second Prize, 2000 RMB;

8 Third Prize, 1000 RMB;

12 Outstanding Award, Gift worth of 500 RMB;

3 Best Organization Award, 2000 RMB

To better facilitate international friends' understanding of Jiangsu, the committee will occasionally organize photography collection activities related to the theme of the competition.
