2025 Winter Vacation Arrangements

Dear OECians, the winter vacation of 2025 will begin from Jan. 18th and classes for next academic semester will begin from Feb. 17th.

This post is a compilation of JSU on-campus services, OEC events & services during the vacation. For your convenience, please take note of all these information and save this post for future use. We wish you a safe and happy vacation.

Note: All students shall return to campus by Feb. 16th and prepare for the new academic semester.

WINTER VACATION SERVICES

CANTEENS

Canteen 1: Open throughout the vacation.

Teachers' Canteen: Closed only from Jan. 28th to Feb. 5th

# Other canteens will not operate during the vacation.

# All canteens on campus resume operations from Feb. 16th

CAMPUS CARD

Offline Recharge

Not available.

Online Recharge

Please note that students can recharge their campus cards through kiosks available in dorm reception as usual or also through JSU enterprise account on WeChat.

Campus Card Service

Every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except Jan. 28th to Feb. 4th)

Timings: 08:30-11:30; 14:00-17:00

Location: 1st Floor, Old library

CAMPUS BUS

Campus bus will not operate from Jan. 20th and will resume from Feb. 13th.

CAMPUS LIBRARY

Closed from Jan. 27th to Feb. 4th.

Reading rooms on 1st floor:

Timings: 08:30-11:30; 14:30-17:00

Reading rooms on 1st to 4th floors:

Timings: 08:30-11:30; 14:30-17:00 (every Tuesdays)

Book borrowing Services:

Timings: 08:30-11:30; 14:30-17:00 (every Tuesdays)

Note: Borrowing time limit for books shall be automatically extended for vacation period.

CAMPUS CLINIC

Open as usual

Timings: 08:00-11:30; 14:00-17:30 (everyday)

Emergency Department: 24hrs

GYMNASIUM

Timings: 08:00-11:30; 14:00-17:30 (except Jan. 27th to Feb. 5th).

COURIERS & SHOPS

Kuaidi (Courier) Center:

Jan. 19th to Jan. 26th: 09:00-19:00

Jan. 27th to Feb. 4th: 09:00-16:00

Feb. 5th to Feb. 12th: 09:00-19:00

Feb. 13th onwards: 08:30-22:00

Supermarkets:

Canteen 6 Supermarket: Closed from Jan. 20th to Feb. 13th

B Dorms Supermarket: Closed only from Jan. 26th Feb. 2nd

China Mobile:

Closed from Jan. 20th to Feb. 4th

Bike Repair shops (09:00-17:00)

F Dorms: Closed from Jan. 24th to Feb. 2nd

C Dorms: Open everyday

Sanshan Building: Closed from Jan. 25th to Feb. 10th

RESIDENCE PERMIT

For students whose residence permits expire during vacation, please process your residence permit application at OEC 1301 or 1307 on Jan. 23rd, 24th or Feb. 14th.

Timings: 09:00-11:00; 14:30 to 16:30

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLEAR ALL FEE AND REGISTER RESIDENCE INFORMATION BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT AT OEC. Please note that you will take own responsiblity if your visa expires.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING

Students who face problems like depression, culture shock, anxiety or other mental health issues are requested to contact their class teachers for guidance and support to make appointment for professional counselling.

Safety & Security Reminder

The safety reminders for the vacation are as follows, please read carefully and inform each other. Wish you enjoy a safe and happy holiday!

1. All overseas students are requested to follow the Chinese laws and regulations along with JSU rules. For your safety, please avoid late night hangouts and illegal work. We also encourage you to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the vacation.2. We are planning to organize a lot of student events to make your vacation resourceful and fun-filled. Please actively participate and improve a positive social and physical lifestyle.

3. Your class teacher can offer helpful details on winter vacation travelling rush. You are all encouraged to stay in touch with class teacher and timely update your travel plans.4. Students should only participate in religious activities at lawfully registered Buddhist monasteries, Taoist temples, mosques, churches within Chinese territory. Please avoid to organize or participate in any illegal assembly, rally, campaign, or protests. 5. Be aware of "online easy money" traps or forex/bitcoin investments and also scholarship scams which are recently very commonly faced by foreign students. While shopping online, please make sure the seller is certified and requests legal transactions. If any seller asks you to make transaction outside of shopping platform, you must take extra care so as to avoid being scammed. DO NOT TRANSFER MONEY TO UNKOWN PEOPLE.DO NOT BLINDLY BELIEVE IN FOREX OR BITCOIN PROFITS.
