To promote the integration of Chinese and foreign students, guide outstanding students to understand Chinese stories from a multicultural perspective, and also promote Chinese values, spread Chinese spirit and unite Chinese forces, the Overseas Education College and the School of Law are jointly organizing "Understanding China in Stories -Joint Reading Class for Chinese and Foreign Students".

The details are as follows:

1. ParticipantsInternational students: 10-20 Chinese students from the School of Law: 10-20Students from all educational levels and majors are encouraged to apply, and selection will be made according to the applications and the interviews. Please scroll down for application form.

2. TimeSeptember, 2022 to November, 2022 (the specific arrangement will be announced later)

3. Activity TypesSelf-study, Group discussion, final reports, etc.

4. Activity Arrangementi. Registration and Selection - September 12 to September 30Students who are interested in in this activity should submit application forms to the Overseas Education College and the School of Law respectively during September 12 to 16, and then the two departments will jointly conduct interviews during September 26 to 30 to select the most suitable candidates. In order to ensure the efficiency of the learning, only students who live ON CAMPUS can register.

ii. Study and Discussion - October 8 to November 30(a) The organizer will give the book "China in Stories" to the all the participants, and 4-5 students will be a group to conduct the following reading part and studying part, to understand and master the relevant knowledge and make study notes;(b) The members of each group should include Chinese students and international students, with a total number of no less than 4 people;(c) Participants are expected to organize 3-6 concentrated studies during the activity period, and prepare a PPT for the final competition.

5. Awardsa. Prizes i) First prize is RMB 3,000 ii) Second prize is RMB 2,000 iii) Third prize is RMB 1,500b. All the participants will receive certificates jointly issued by the Overseas Education College and the School of Law;c. Students who win the first and second prizes will have the opportunity to participate in various practical activities for free, such as the "Zhixing China Fellowship Program" by the China Education International Exchange Association, to learn more about China by going to Zhenjiang, cities in Jiangsu Province or other provinces.
