2022 Summer Vacation Arrangements——Services and Timings

Dear students,

Summer vacations of 2022 have begun from July 5th until Aug. 28th.

We wish students will have a safe, resourceful and happy vacation. The following is a compilation of service details (on-campus) & OEC services during the vacation. For you convenience, please take note of all these updated infomation and save it for further use.

Warm Reminder

As we know last semester, many students faced trouble in fee payments and arrangements. We hereby remind students to check your fee due to be paid in Sep., 2022. Especially fee for relearn courses. Please plan ahead and make arrangments for payment on time. This is to avoid delay of your academic schedule due to payment issues.Make use of OEC events, healthy hobbies and academic work to make your vacation interesting and resourceful.

IMPORTANT

Pay attention to pandemic prevention. Please do not leave Zhenjiang without prior permission through class teacher. Do not accommodate people from other cities without informing class teacher. For the safety of all, please do not join or oganise gatherings. Please take good care of your health. Do not get drunk or high. Avoid smoking, drinking too much and please stay away from drugs.

CANTEENS

Following canteens will operate normally during the vacations:

All canteens on campus resume operations from Aug. 27th


CAMPUS CARD RECHARGE

From Jul. 8th to Aug. 24th, campus card recharge will be done at Teachers' Canteen during the following timings:

09:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 16:00 Every Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

However, students can recharge campus cards through kiosks available in dorm reception as usual or also through JSU enterprise account.


CAMPUS BUS

Campus bus will not operate from Jul. 6th to August 24th.

Services resume from Aug. 25th.

Reading, Borrowing & Returning Books:

Every Tuesdays (Except Feb. 16th): 08:30-11:30; 14:30-17:00

RESIDENCE PERMIT RENEWAL

For students whose residence permits expire before Jul. 31st

Timings: Jul. 26th, 27th & 28th (9am to 11am; 2:30pm to 4:30)

For students whose residence permits expire before Aug. 31st

Timings: Aug. 15th (9am to 11am; 2:30pm to 4:30)

On-campus students:

Apply for residence permit documents at OEC Room 1301.

Please remember to do temporary residence registration at C8 reception atleast 24 hours before you apply for residence permit.

Off-campus students:

Submit all documents required for residence permit application to your off-campus manager. We will prepare your documents and submit to off-campus managers.

Please remember to do temporary residence registration at the local police station atleast 24 hours before you apply for residence permit.

Students who are currently out of Zhenjiang:

Please make travel arrangements according to above dates after considering Zhenjiang restrictions on people returning from COVID risk areas. Updated policies can be enquired from class teacher and please make travel arrangements ahead in case of quarantine.


Gradautes:

Residence permit of "study" as the purpose will not be extened for graduates as the study period came to an end. Graduates who continue to pursue higher education at JSU should provide admission notice and also apply for "summer program" and pertain a valid study program to get residence permit extension for summer vacation.

REMEMBER TO CLEAR FEE AND REGISTER RESIDENCE INFORMATION BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT AT OEC. Please note that you will take own responsiblity if your visa expires.

Additional information about counselor: He worked on MRI contrast agent at Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics and got his PhD certificate in Chemistry from University of Tuebingen in Germany. He is very happy to work at this international Institute with colleagues from Serbia, UK, Russia, Italy and India. About his experience in Germany he said “Even though there is a vast cultural diversity between the two countries, and I felt homesick quite often but working with my colleagues from different nationalities made my experience memorable and enjoyable. With HeART I want to make use of my experience to help our international friends in adjusting and making most of their student life in JSU.”图片

SAFETY REMINDERS

Please read carefully and inform each other. Wish you enjoy a safe and happy holiday!

1. All overseas students must comply with Chinese laws and regulations in addition to our university’s regulations and rules. Violation of national laws and regulations will result in legal penalties from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Justice, and also punishment (from warning to expulsion from school) given by Jiangsu University. Special attention should be paid to cases such as illegal working with student visa, expired visas, unruly behavior due to alcohol, and disturbing the peace when staying off campus. Students who need to ask for leave must complete the absence procedures in strict accordance with OEC regulations and receiving permission from relevant teachers and departments.

3. Students should only participate in religious activities at lawfully registered Buddhist monasteries, Taoist temples, mosques, churches within Chinese territory. Do not organize or participate in any illegal assembly, rally, campaign, or protests. And, do not engage in religious activities in the dorm and public areas.

4. Join OEC events during the vacation. Also, there are many interesting places in Zhenjiang. You can visit them during the holiday and learn more about Zhenjiang.

5. Beware of "online easy money" traps or forex/bitcoin investments.

DO NOT TRANSFER MONEY TO UNKOWN PEOPLE.

DO NOT BLINDLY BELIEVE IN FOREX OR BITCOIN PROFITS.
