Culture Experience Trip to Nanjing
On the 11th of November, the international students accompanied by two teachers from the Overseas Education College embarked on a journey to Nanjing city.
Students started off by gathering together early in the morning to begin their journey. When they reached in Nanjing, the students got off at the Nanjing museum whereby they all stood for a quick group photo. Then, the students all went inside the museum to see the beautiful artifacts, fossils, important and historical items that have been an important part of the ancient Chinese traditions and culture. After they had completed their little adventure exploring the floors and rooms of the museum, it was time to move on to the next location.

At noon, the students arrived at the mountain to climb to the Sun Yatsen Mausoleum. A short and brief explanation of the place is that the Sun Yatsen Mausoleum is the burial site of a political leader in China. It's quite situated at the top of the mountain. So, upon their arrival and with their energy replenished again by having lunch, the students were then full of life again and ready to begin this journey that looks like that of a thousand steps to their eyes. Many were ready to give up the climbing of all these steps but by making the climbing process more fun as they climbed in groups, they were all able to make it to the top and many even forgot the feeling of exhaustion caused by looking at the stairs before climbing it. Having all made it to the top, they all paused once again for another group photo, as people who have successfully climbed the steps to be tomb of Sun Yatsen do.
At the top the students rest for a while and enjoy the view of Nanjing from the mountain; the red, orange, yellow and colorful leaves of the trees of Autumn and the buildings from far at a distance.
After the students gained their energy again, they headed back to the bus and continued their journey to their last and final destination which was the Xuanwu lake of Nanjing. Upon their arrival to this place, some took boat rides along the lake while others took a stroll. Others just sat down and enjoyed the view, at the same time feeling the peace and tranquility from the view of the lake.
By then, it was already getting late and it was time to get back home to their dormitories. The students all hopped on to the bus saying good bye to Nanjing city. It was a great trip and many enjoyed the moments shared with one another throughout. It was a pleasurable experience and as well, it was a day well spent. All thanks goes to the Overseas Education College for sponsoring this event and for
providing with the opportunity to make this happen; the hand in hand executive members l, as well as the volunteers for their active participation and work at the various events organized by this association.
