ECians’ 2018 Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament

It was at the 20th minutes of the 10th hour when the first smash of the ball was made to mark the commencement of the 2018.17.03 OECians’ volleyball tournament at the beach-courtyard. In the realm of unity, civilization, socialization, harmony and entertainment, coupled with the cool and conducive atmospheric conditions, many spectator couldn’t afford to miss the live tournament with the joy it carries. They preferred to be eye witnesses rather than ear whisperers. The game not only improved Physical Education (PE) but also strengthened cooperation within the international students from diverse backgrounds. To reinforce moral and institutional support, OEC executives, Dr. Smith and Mr. Arun embraced the occasion.

The day started with knockout matches of 12 teams. Each team contained 3 members (one female and two males). The ladies held the captain band of each team.

In this highly competitive tournament, every team tried to dominate the opponent with more points. However after selecting ‘men from the boys’, only six (6) Teams qualified for the quarter finals.

The Semi-finals was played between the following giants;

1. Team Faeza vs Team Anbu

2. Team Riya vs Team Tallia

By a nice way of the super eagle telling the hen, “even though they both have feathers but seniority matters”. Team-Faeza and Team-Riya flew to the final stage of the completion with the following scores;

 Set 1- 15:7

 Set 2- 15:13

For the Lion to demonstrate that it is still the King of the jungle, Team-Faeza constituting

Amar, Faeza and Chichi won the competition.

The Referee, Mr. Vijay unquestionably and fairly declared them as the champions of the OECians’ 2018 Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament with a handsome presentation of a golden trophy.

This year’s result was unimaginable as it surprised many spectators. According to the ISSA president, Robin Kapadia, “the results were really unexpected. Many new players were found during this tournament and it was much better than previous tournaments”.

He also made mention of the future plan for the volley team. “We will soon organize one more tournament as requested by many players”. He added.

The tournament successfully ended with exiting moment.
