This year's Annual JSU Badminton Tournament was held in the university gym on the 8th and the 9th of December. The venue was filled with students from all sorts of streams coming to support their respective teams.

16 teams came to compete against each other in Men's singles, Women's singles, Men's doubles, Women's doubles and Mixed doubles. These teams were split into 4 groups, A, B, C, and D respectively. Groups A and B have 5 teams each and groups C and D had 4 teams respectively.

The event started at 9am on the 8th of December with lots of enthusiasm. The Badminton arena was filled with spectators and a sense of joy was in the air. The matches started to take place on the 8 different courts with well qualified officials to direct the match.

The teams were competitive and they were really fighting hard to go on until the finals. OEC team did well to secure the first position in the A group. Now we went straight into the quarter finals in which the first two teams of each group were taken and mixed up into 2 groups via ballot method. The quarters were held on the 9th and this time even more students and teachers were also there to support.

In the quarter, only 4 teams went on with the tournament. Yet again our team did so well and secured the berth for the semi finals. In the semi finals the teams were divided into 2 groups with 2 team in each group. Our team was placed with Tianqi, the most feared team after us. We had to defeat them in order to make our way to the finals.

Men doubles- 21-14, 19-21,21-17

Our team successfully made it to the finals and game played by the senior players of the team was extra ordinary.

OEC team won the first position in this year's annual badminton tournament of Jiangsu University!
