The 17th Sports Games and the 2nd "President Cup" Football Tournament of Jiangsu University came to a successful conclusion on May 14. The tournament commenced on April 14 at Dongshan Playground.

"President's Cup" football match has become the school's top-quality tournament and football events, which is geared towards propagation of the culture, developing the spirit of harmony and inventiveness, as well as ensuring the physical and mental health of students.

The tournament was made up 18 teams and more than 360 players participated, which was played within a month. Due to the unique nature of the tournament, every College/Team attaches great importance to the selection of excellent and outstanding players.

Soccer, no doubt, has won the hearts of most students on campus. To keep this passion alive, the game never dies. Due to the indefatigable and invaluable efforts of the Coaches and Captains, as well as the inexorable team spirit display and professional style of play by the players, made us the winning team at each stage of the tournament to the final stage.

Historically, the united stars of OEC, the defending champions, have always set the pace of winning almost all matches in many years of the tournament. The Coach, Mr. Mukhtar Yusif has always been consistent in training the players with the help of other members.

The final game of the group stages for the JSU tournament kicked off with heated match between the United Stars of OEC and the Mechanical Engineering College with the Stars winning by seven goals to two. Looking at the way and manner the opponent team were encouraging and cheering their team members, they were of much confidence to win the final game.

However, the United Stars proved to be a formidable team with a sense of professional and tactical play which led to our victory. In fact, the game was very challenging because each team was so eager to be victorious.

All members of the United team played above expectation. The goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers played professionally according to the position assigned to them.

Worthy team members including; Kingdom, Eyeson, Jean, Muna, Ahat, Mangii, C.J, Nana Kojo, Altigani, Jibb, Nelson, Kenzo and not forgetting Sulley the captain of the team. The United Stars of OEC scored 49+ goals throughout the tournament due to the outstanding performance coupled with high sense of team spirit display.
