Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas Talents 2019, Special session for foreign students in China was held in Hangzhou from 31st May to 2nd June. OECians from Jiangsu University School of Management were privileged to partake in this years’ innovation program.

Innovation building activities are very important to students as they get enough time to take up challenging roles and aspects that will build their intellects aside class work. It also gives students to chance to develop their social status.

The competition comprised of  3 stages with 25 universities across China bringing in 163 projects. The team was paired in the same category with Tsinghua University, Ningbo University, Beijing Garment University, Shenzhen University and other renowned universities.

Ebenezer Ababio Tetteh and Patience Mensah Acquah both from the school of management represented the university in this year’s competition in Hangzhou on their project, The LITTLE SMILE INITIATIVE under the supervision of Associate Professor Borah Prasad Siba and Associate Professor Zhiwen Li (Owen) also of school of Management. Little smile initiative project seeks to promote life expectancy amongst the elderly across the populace of the African Continent through the provision of smart exercises and technological tools to facilitate healthy living.

The competition was keenly contested for but also highly educative. With dedication, determination and great support from our supervisors, the team was able to sail through from the preliminary stage, the first stage of the competition through to the second stage. It was such a great experience .

We were privileged to come back with some winning award and certificate.

We would like to use this opportunity to thank Prof Owen and Prof Siba for their immense support, time, guidance and directions from the beginning through to the end of the competition.

Take Challenging roles, if you experience some failures see it as a learning curve. Take risk for it makes you a better person than you were yesterday and if you choose not to take any risk that’s also a risk.

Be business minded, academically conscious and socially connected.
