OECians Attend Legal Lecture to Enlighten Life in China

Attendance: 40 overseas studentsThis day was observed with much cognizant zeal to make overseas students aware and emphasize the Do’s & Don’ts within our period of stay in China.

This is what revitalized Zhenjiang Public Security (Jingkou) to take up a task in order to organize this definitive seminar dubbed, “How to Enlighten Your Life in China” to the entire international student populace of JSU.

Monday 23rd December, 2019 as at 2:00pm, registered students for the seminar were led by OEC staffs; Mrs. Cai Zhaohui (OEC Vice Dean) and Mr. Liang Weisong to Zhenjiang International Hotel. The public security officers warmly welcomed JSU students.

The host officials (Zhenjiang Police) comprised from different units and presented the audience with a Legal Lecture. Different knowledge practical experiences, insights, and views, both at provincial and national level were shared. It gave a good impression and understanding of the many perspectives that can and should be taken into account by foreign students as to how-to live-in China without flouting any rules & regulations.

Mr. Hong Yu and Mr. Yin Hang presented on behalf of the highly esteemed policemen where they disclosed crucial issues in defining and implementing adequate preservation policies as part of the Lecture based on: Common Foreign Law, Cases (illegal residence, unlawful employment & illicit drug possession), Law of the PRC on Penalties for Administration of Public Security as well as a Heartfelt Speech: We are Chinese Policemen.In view of the above crucial issues, students were conscientized to abide by all laws in order to make China a worth place of living whiles we pursue our education here. Failure to do so comes with consequences and negative implications such as, those students can be referred for criminal prosecution. Above all, students should be aware that, violations may result in expulsion from school and China.

The feedback of the participants confirmed that the seminar was very much appreciated as well as that, there is a pressing need for students to abide by all Chinese Laws and Regulations.

It’s our burning desire to unveil our special and profound gratitude to OEC for giving us this boundless fortuitous to partake in such a seminar. Also, much appreciation to Mrs. Cai Zhaohui (OEC Vice Dean) and Liang Laoshi for escorting us throughout the seminar.
