On November 30th and 1st of December the JSU BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2019 was held. In the competition there were 20 teams from twenty different schools including the OEC team.

HAI YANTeams were split into 4 groups, each oneconsisting of 5 teams. The coaches where summoned to fix their matches, once the dice was rolled the first team of mixed double Asad and Kinjal followed by men singles played by Robin and female singles played by Riya. Both teams gracefully all moved to the next round with remarkable points.

As the defending champions of the tournament we got pressure to keep up the pace as the other teams started catching up with our stride. Every team began making their strategies and changing game plans for the next round where our mixed double duo Archan and Shana were on green court followed by Robin and Riya with their singles match. We once again white washed our opponents with 3-0 on scoreboard.

As we moved on to the next round it hashard not to miss the intensity on the field as our mixed doubles duo of Archan and Kinjai lost to their duo lead Zhang with 0-2 stats in a fairly tough competition. Our female single contestant Riya stepped into the court and started making points like a pro level badminton champ with a 2-0 win. Next men’s single match where i played my cards right and won 2-0 with a lead of 2-1.

At this point we were confident about winning. The last match of our female double duo Riya and Shana and men doubles duo Robin Kapadia and Asad Ali proved our instincts right for the championship was brought home. The game of badminton is all about body language, it is ourstrategic moves and communication that propelled us to victory. The whole teamput in a lot of effort into every game that we were awarded with the “Sporting Values” plaque which was given to us.
