On January 9, 2022, some Chinese and overseas students from Jiangsu University Overseas Education College and School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering visited Jinshan Shuicheng community of Zhenjiang city to join the activity of "welcoming Laba Festival and making Laba porridge" along with local residents.

With the patient explanation by enthusiastic citizens, overseas students from Kenya, Bangladesh and Nigeria understood the origin of Laba Festival and also learned the ingredients and processes of making Laba porridge together with Chinese students. The students also cooked Laba porridge under the guidance of community residents. In the midst of laughter and joy, everyone tasted Laba porridge and exchanged Chinese and foreign festival customs. The atmosphere was very warm and ended as a great experience.
