Chinese Spring Festival is approaching and one of the well-known traditions of this festival is making dumplings. On January 30th, 2022 JSU organized: ‘Jiangsu University 2022 Spring Festival Party for on-campus students and President Prof. Yan visited off-campus overseas students to share Spring Festival wishes.

The event was held at Jiangsu University Canteen No. 1 and was graced by University President Prof. Yan, Vice Secretary Prof. Li, Vice President Prof. Wu and other leaders. Chinese and overseas students on-campus who haven’t been able to go back home have been invited to join the event to feel spring festival atmosphere.

The event commenced by welcoming the leaders with the song《走进新时代》that was led by Kenzo. The President Yan then started speaking to all the students and presented his new year greetings. He wished students all the best in their studies, good health and a good new year with success ahead.

After that, several Chinese students and overseas students shared their experiences about spring festival and their appreciation of efforts by the school. The lively chit-chats between the leaders and students concluded with JSU leaders presenting several gifts and hongbao to the students. The event ended with the most important part of making and eating dumplings.

In the afternoon on on January 30th, 2022, President Yan, Dean Gao, Executive Vice Secretary Huang, Vice Dean Cai and other OEC staff paid a visit to some off-campus students and presented new year greetings to celebrate the Spring Festival.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong encouraged them to further adhere and observe all COVID-19 prevention and control measures, holiday study engagements, health & safety as well as life security. He wished us a good yield of study and hard work, good health, family harmony and beauty in the new year.

As, we (Off-Campus OECians) admitted that, though in the presence of COVID-19 within the winter vacation, the school continuously pays attention to our welfare and safety of which makes us feel the solid savor of Chinese New Year and China as a worth place for us to live and pursue our academic career. It was indeed a special moment to have the President and his entourage join us in our off-campus apartment so as to observe such a pleasing moment.
