On May 1, 2026, the Universal Hand-in-Hand Association (HIH) successfully organized its annual campus cleanup initiative under the theme “Our Space, Our Stewardship.” Conducted under the guidance of the Association Patron, Mr. Abdul, the event mobilized nearly 100 international students to spearhead environmental maintenance efforts across various key locations on campus, including academic blocks, student centers, residential complexes, sports grounds, and main walkways.

Prior to the commencement of the clean-up, the President of the association, Mr. Victor Magnafam Jakayi, emphasized the program's broader mission. He encouraged volunteers to cultivate a culture of shared ownership and environmental responsibility to ensure a clean, safe, and sustainable campus environment.

The clean-up exercise lasted from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, volunteers systematically cleared debris, gathered litter, and reorganized public spaces. Through these coordinated efforts, the waste collected was successfully transferred to the university’s sanitation services for proper disposal.

The event also served as an educational platform. Volunteers received briefings on waste management, sustainability practices, and the institutional importance of maintaining clean learning environments. Participants expressed a renewed commitment to practicing ongoing environmental stewardship in their daily campus lives.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Abdul commended the students' dedication and civic engagement. He encouraged the association to sustain these efforts, highlighting the vital role such volunteer initiatives play in fostering community responsibility and empowering international students.
