JSU Students Join First “Gen-Z” International Communication Bootcamp in Beijing

Two international students from Jiangsu University recently participated in the First “Gen Z” International Communication Bootcamp, organized by the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China in Beijing.

Shakil Ahamed Imon, an MBA student, and Mammadov Taghi, a PhD student, were selected among fifty international students from universities across China to join the intensive two day program held from November 15 to 16, 2025.

During the bootcamp, participants explored tools of modern storytelling through practical workshops on AI assisted video creation and strategic digital communication. A representative from Douyin, conducted a specialized session on content creation for the platform. The program also featured an inspiring experience sharing session from a well known foreign content creator, offering valuable insights into creative online expression.

Students engaged in on site field production along Beijing’s historic Central Axis, where they applied their skills in real world settings. Industry professionals from leading digital platforms provided hands on guidance and shared knowledge on communication trends, video promotion strategies, and the mechanics of social media algorithms.

Organizers also outlined plans to take participants to different regions across China to help promote local culture and tourism. They encouraged collaboration between international students and Chinese students to strengthen cross cultural communication and expand global perspectives.

At the end of the program, both participants from Jiangsu University received official certificates of completion from the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China in recognition of their active participation and achievements.

This experience reflects Jiangsu University’s ongoing commitment to providing its international students with high quality learning opportunities and meaningful professional development across China.
