To deepen international students’ understanding of Chinese scientific culture, over 40 international students from the Overseas Education College visited the "Mengxi Wenxue" Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Research Base in Zhenjiang on September 30 to participate in the "Dialogue with Millennia-Old Wisdom · Inheriting the Spirit of Science" themed event.

During the event, the students donned elegant Song-style Hanfu and strolled gracefully through the centuries-old garden. Students actively participated in interactive projects such as a "Mobile Knowledge Base" time-travel quiz and puzzle challenges, feeling as though they were engaging in a cross-temporal dialogue with ancient Chinese sages. At the Intangible Cultural Heritage Night Market, the traditional lacquer fan-making activity sparked great interest. The cultural performance segment brought the evening to a climax, with international students presenting the classic Chinese song "Curved Moon" and a dance medley blending multiple national styles, building a bridge of cultural exchange through the language of art and earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Through innovative, cross-disciplinary, and highly interactive formats, the event effectively enhanced students’ understanding of the Northern Song scientist Shen Kuo and his work Dream Pool Essays. Through hands-on experiences, students not only appreciated the charm of ancient wisdom but also developed a passion for exploring the history of Chinese science, injecting new youthful energy into the promotion of traditional Chinese culture.
