The conversazione was held on July 7th 2021 by the Overseas Education College, at the Conference Centre of JSU. This extraordinary communication was hosted by Associate Prof. Huang Ting [Executive Deputy Secretary of OEC CPC Branch], discussing and learning about CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply to the letter from overseas students at Peking University and to understand the goals of CPC and China, so as get abreast with the reforms required for progress of nations. Prof. Yuan Shouqi [Chairman of the University Council] and Prof. Gao Jing [Dean of OEC] were the honorable experts of the occasion. This dialogue was also open to over 40 overseas students from 19 foreign countries.

The event was started at playing a CCTV video about Peking university's students' reviews on the reply from General Secretary Xi. Prof. Yuan Shouqi then briefly lectured on "A Better Understanding of CPC & China," throwing more light on the CPC's primary goals, which included the development of the Chinese economy.

A close examination of General Secretary Xi's statement reveals that understanding China necessitates understanding the CPC, and that the CPC is dedicated to eradicate poverty and actively assisting other countries in fighting COVID-19. The presentation also highlighted the agricultural machinery characteristics and the strive for human progress of Jiangsu University.

After the lecture, the participating students expressed their feelings based on their learnings and experiences. Yolandani, a student from Indonesia, said that General Secretary Xi's reply not only expressed concern for the overseas students at Peking University, but also an encouragement for all the overseas students studying in China. “CPC and Chinese government, while doing a good job in their own epidemic prevention work, have also extended a helping hand to many countries in the world by donating medical materials and sending anti epidemic medical teams, which shows great responsibility and responsibility. My country should learn from China's development experience, strive to eliminate poverty and seek for the well-being of the people”, said by Mpeqa, from Lesotho. Angel, a Ugandan student expressed that overseas students shoulder the mission of telling Chinese stories and spreading the voice of China. They should do their best to be good ambassadors of friendship between China and foreign countries and let the world know more about the beautiful and harmonious China.

Following the speeches, was an interactive Q&A session between students and the professors that take advantage of this opportunity to learn from China in order to innovate and resolve issues, with the goal of eventually eradicating poverty in overseas students’ countries.

Prof. Gao Jing concluded with a speech emphasizing the relevance of taking advantage of the opportunities provided by JSU, as the first university to offer an Agricultural Machinery major, to learn and master the Chinese language, also understanding why the Chinese people strongly believe in CPC.
