The 4th Reading Session of the 3rd vol. of the book “The Governance of China” by President Xi was held on Saturday 13th March 2021. The event was organized online by the China–Africa Relationship Think Tank (CART) and supported by the Overseas Education College (OEC). The session was led by group four (4) on the topic "Harmony between Humans and Nature."

   The topic was divided into four subsections:

1) Introduction

2) Principles to apply when protecting the eco-environment and Win the Battle against pollution

3) Build a green and beautiful homeland for all; major goals for eco-conservation and quality development of the yellow river basin

4) Closing remarks

      The presentation was led by Mr. Alexis Tuffour (Group leader). They introduced the topic and touched on the importance of harmony between nature and humans and listed some strategies used in China to promote the replenishment of natural habitats and resources and the safety of animals and plant species. The team emphasized many vital points and provided details on President Xi's strategies to achieving harmony with nature and steadily trying to eradicate pollution.

    After the presentation, the judges and patrons were very impressed by the details and effort put into this presentation. A detailed review was given by all judges on achieving this harmony and protecting the environment at the individual level.  Additionally, they suggested how we, as students of JSU, could organize and participate in activities that would promote the saving of trees by planting more trees, pay attention to strategies on saving water, reducing land pollution, and promoting proper disposal of recyclable and organic wastes on campus.

      Present at the event were Prof. Gao Jing (OEC Party Secretary and Patron of CART), Ms. Wang limin from the School of Management, Ms. Wendy from the International Office, Mr. Wu peng from the School of Foreign Language and Mr. Sun xuhong from the School of Maxism,OEC staff, and CART executives.

     Overall, it was a deep and insightful presentation, and a lot was learned from this session. CART Board Members and patrons are grateful for the immense support expressed by our teachers and International students during our programs. We look forward to the next and final session of the reading club which will be held on 20th March 2021.
