The day as an event is usually observed with much conscious fervor to make people aware, emphasizing on the cultivation of consciousness to Rule of Law as part of beginning of Freshmen Entrance Education. A tutelage which is a major and key guidance to humanity in ensuring the well-being of the masses. This is what revitalized Overseas Education College of Jiangsu University to take up a task in order to convene this definitive orientation where freshmen underwent a series of education to understand their campus life, academic plans etc while simultaneously hosting a warm welcome for all new overseas students, with a hope that they enjoy their stay here!

On the 22nd & 23rd of September, 2021, Jiangsu University scheduled orientation for its international freshmen. The orientation took place at the Overseas Education College and was programmed to be morning and afternoon sessions each day. Due to the current state amidst COVID-19 pandemic, the orientation was a combination of offline for domestic freshmen and online for overseas freshmen.

The entire orientation was adorned and facilitated by OEC staff in the persons of: Prof. Gao Jing (Dean of OEC), Associate Prof. Huang Ting (Executive Deputy Secretary of OEC, CPC Branch), Prof. Su Jianhong (Vice Dean of OEC), Dr. Cui Yong (Vice Dean of OEC), Mr. Wang Bin (Student Affairs Director), Ms. Ding Min (Teaching Affairs Director), Mr. Arun, Ms. Li Hannan, and Mr. Liang Weisong.

He host officials (OEC-JSU, International Student Clubs and Jingkou Public Security Department-Zhenjiang) comprised of different units which presented the audience (Int’l Freshmen) with a wide range of knowledge, practical experiences, insights, intuitions and views, in order to enlighten them as they pursue their educational career in JSU which was geared towards the cultivation of consciousness.

The host officials presented on behalf of the University, disclosing crucial issues in defining and implementing adequate preservation thoughts as part of the distinctive orientation which focused on thirteen (13) solid thematic areas: China Opportunity and International competence, The Introduction of Jiangsu University, The Introduction of Zhenjiang, The Education of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Agricultural Machinery Culture of Jiangsu University, Guide of the Campus Life, Manual of Overseas Students, Introduction to International Student Clubs, Undergraduate Teaching Affairs, Postgraduate Teaching Affairs, Visa and Insurance, Law of Entry and Exit Administration and Fraud Prevention, Anti-Drugs and Traffic Safety as well as AIDS, Tuberculosis and COVID-19 Prevention.

In view of the above motivating issues, freshmen were encouraged to stay positive, conscientized to abide by all relevant rules and regulations, and also do their best to succeed. Freshmen who just joined our colorful community (JSU), were further welcomed to the JSU fraternity. You are fortified to make the most of your time here no matter the current situation we find ourselves. Your college experience will be what you make it, and your opportunities will only be limited by the limits you place on yourself.

The feedback of the participants (freshmen) confirmed that the orientation was very much valued as well as that, Jiangsu University strongly subscribes to the principles of nurturing and grooming its students towards accomplishments and self-development. Hence, everyone place great importance and priority on their responsibility to provide such a discourse for its freshmen.
