Recap of 2024 Winter Vacation Events for OECians in Holidays
During the winter vacation of 2024, overseas students of Jiangsu University enriched their holiday time by participating in a lot of events organized by the university, departments of Zhenjiang Municipal government and specially the OEC student associations. The academic, cultural, sporting and mental health events throughout the vacation presented an entertaining and resourceful winter vacation.
OECians Celebrate 2024 Spring Festival Party

Over 300 OECians from various countries joined the Spring Festival Party, experienced the Spring Festival Customs and welcomed the Chinese New Year.
OECians Join Fire Drill During the Vacation

In order to further enhance the fire safety awareness of students in winter vacation, improve the ability of emergency response to deal with sudden fires, Jiangsu University organized a special fire drill for students who stay on campus during the vacation. Overseas students joined the drill and learned life-saving information.
OECians Studied the Spirit of the Replying Letter from Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee to the Representatives of Kenyan students and Alumni at Beijing Jiaotong University

During the event, the participants learned the spirit of the letter through in-depth understanding of China-Kenya cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative. Prof. Cai Yingfeng, Vice President of Jiangsu University encouraged students for academic excellence and motivated students to join hands for China-African relations.
Prof. Li Hongbo, Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee elaborated on achievements made by African students of JSU. He emphasized students to share JSU spirit and China's stories to serve their countries for a shared future. Students also shared their views on this occasion.
2024 OEC Winter Football Tournament

Y2K Online Dance Competition

New Year Foodie Cooking Competition

Spring Festival Couplets Competition

OECians Experienced Folk Customs of Chinese New Year

Jiangsu University organized some foreign students on campus to carry out the "Experience Chinese New Year" activity, students from different countries to experience the folk customs of write Spring Couplets, write "福 (fu)", cutting window flowers, make lanterns, guess lantern riddles, experience the traditional Chinese custom culture, and welcome the arrival of the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon.

OECians Welcomed Chinese New Year with the Police

Organized by Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau
Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau invited OECians to the police camp and carried out the activity of "writing Spring couplets to welcome the New Year". During the activity, international students and police made window flowers, ate dumplings, pasted couplets, and immersed themselves in the "Foreigners' Chinese Year".

OECians Experienced Chinese New Year at Jinshan Fair

Answer Teach Learn (ATL)

This event helped students to prepare for the examination, as well get a glimpse of typical engineering questions, especially mathematics. ATL technique was aimed to motivate students, to fully understand what they are being taught in class, and to screen how much knowledge they have grasped and able to use it anytime without a need to look back into their notes.

Code Red to Green Zone

Targeting to combat the daily stressors of a student’s life, a very powerful and impactful event was organized. On the 1st day of the event, 3 speakers bestowed light upon how each of the stressors impacts the students life alongside they also shared their experiences and some very useful tips to overcome the stressors in college life. On the 2nd day of the event, a workbook sheet was provided to all participants while 7 target oriented activities were conducted in order to give insight to students on how to cope with their stressors. The activities were a means of providing students with the practical tools they can use to overcome their stressors in field of finance, academics, society as well as their own lifestyle.
