The morning of November 4th marked a learning experience for OECians as 12 of them got to partake in the 11th Traditional Chinese Medicine Festival at Zhenjiang’s Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The event commenced with an introduction of the event and speeches from revered doctors and leaders.

The festival had various aspects with staff dedicated to deepen students TCM knowledge. The tour started with understanding how different natural things like donkey skin and dried orange peels could be used for medicinal purposes. Students were then taken for a pulse reading session only to be left flabbergasted at the accuracy of the diagnostic method. After that, students witnessed an ointment-making process and visited the Acupuncture and Tuina centre under the guidance of its Head of Department.

OECians actively volunteered in all the activities & media interviews, leaving in amazement of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture with souvenirs. OEC and IMSA feel immense gratitude to Zhenjiang’s TCM Hospital and its staff for inviting students and widening their therapeutic knowledge. We look forward to more such opportunities in the future.
