On October 26th 2023, 2023 China ASEAN Education Exchange Week "China ASEAN University Student Tourism Ambassador Contest (Finals)" was held at Kaili University.

After a rigorous selection round, 20 contestants from 10 universities and 9 countries were selected to participate in the finals with the aim of promoting the tourism culture of China ASEAN countries, deepening interaction, and enhancing friendship along the "Belt and Road".

The competition consisted of three parts: Tourist attraction recommendation where contestants were to serve as tour guides to the audience and lead them through their tourist attraction of choice via speech, Tourism Knowledge Q&A where the contestants’ knowledge of Chinese Culture and “Belt and Road” knowledge was tested, and Talent Display which required contestants to exhibit their best performances.

The judging committee consisted of China’s national first-class directors of Dance, Literature and Arts, Singers, famed media personalities and TV show hosts. After an intense competition, NTETHELELO MARCIA-ANNE MPOFU from Zimbabwe won the third prize after an eloquent speech on Zhenjiang’s Jinshan Temple and a heartfelt performance which included an emotional Chinese poem recital and an expressive dance showcasing her story in China which won a warm applause from the audience.
