In order to implement the Higher General Education Re-accreditation for International Students in China, the Ministry of Education entrusted the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) to carry out this work. The experts visited JSU on April 6th and 7th, of which they conducted on-site lectures, reviewed student cultivation files and support materials, inspected learning and living facilities, communicated with JSU President and functional offices’ leaders face-to-face and so on to make a comprehensive assessment.

On April 6th, the following experts were present at the introduction meeting, Mr. Zong Wa, Deputy Secretary-General (Secretary-General level) of the Secretariat of CEAIE, Mr. Zhai Jinming, Director of the Education Service Accreditation Department of CEAIE, Prof. Bai Yi, Leader of the Re-accreditation panel of Experts and Director of the International Office of Central South University, Zhang Wei, Wang Xunqing, Li Xiaona, Bao Yanli, and Zong Xin. From Jiangsu Province, several leaders attended the meeting, they are Ms. Ru Yixian, Deputy Director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU. This meeting was presided over by Prof. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU. Members of the International Student Working Group of the University Education Internationalization Work Leading Group, representatives of academic schools, leaders of the International Office, Overseas Education College and Language and Culture Center also joined this meeting.

Yuan Shouqi expressed utmost appreciation to the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education and CEAIE for their support and guidance, as well as thanked the expert groups for their visit. He asserted that JSU persists in the international opening up strategies, the international students education adheres to both quantity and quality, steadily improving the standard of student sources and deeply integrating international students education into the construction of a "high-level, distinctive, and international research-oriented university". He emphasized that JSU attaches great importance to the Higher General Education Re-accreditation for International Students in China and believes that this on-site review would further "promote construction and development through assessment".

After that, the achievement, the key strategies and successes of education for international students in JSU were presented by Yan Xiaohong. He noted that we have been implementing the "Top Leader Project" to create a "great foreign affairs" work pattern, gathering strength to support The Belt and Road Initiative, deepening the integration of industry and education, exploring a comprehensive management system, adhering to the tenet of quality first, appropriate scale, which is fruitful by cultivating batch and batch of excellent international students.

JSU is one of the first 27 universities in China to pass the Higher General Education Accreditation for International Students in China and one of the first batch of universities to receive re-accreditation, demonstrating the great importance and profound planning of JSU for developing international students education, according to Zong Wa. The Higher General Education Accreditation for International Students in China aims to solidly implement the "Study in China Plan", establish a reliable quality assurance system for studying in China, and assist JSU in further solidifying consensus, planning layout. These efforts will significantly aid in the construction of a "double first-class" university. Then, the criteria for re-accreditation's on-site inspection were presented by Bai Yi.

Expert group on-site review feedback meeting was held on the morning of April 7th, with Yuan Shouqi serving as its chair. Bai Yi, who spoke on behalf of the re-accreditation expert group, provided feedback on the preliminary findings of the on-site review and three main suggestions to optimize the education quality. Zhai Jinming recognized our university's outstanding achievement and expressed some suggestions. Yan Xiaohong made sure to underline that JSU would carefully focus on feedback in order to further improve the standard of international students education, will thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, stay true to its original aspiration and mission of international students education, strengthen the international communications capabilities, and strive to create a world-class brand for "Study Abroad at Jiangsu University."

The expert group also visited various locations on-site during the inspection including Library, School of Pharmacy, Overseas Students Restaurant, Overseas Students Apartment, Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, School of Management, Overseas Education College offices and classrooms, etc.
