2023 Handing-over Ceremony & Training of Student Associations

The Handing Over Ceremony of the Student Associations was conducted on March 15 after a two-day of training for the newly elected executives in order to fully prepare them.

With the objective of handing over the role and duties of the previous executives of the association to the newly appointed ones, this event commenced with a motivating key note speech from the Vice Dean of OEC, Ms. Cai Zhaohui. She began a speech by congratulating and guiding new executives to work hard. She also highlighted the importance of cross-culture interaction and how learning Chinese language can open up a world of possibilities for everyone.

After that, the Representative of the 2022 Student Leaders, Mr. Solomon Adade expressed the importance of cooperation and encouraged everyone to contribute their ideas to their associations.

The heart of the ceremony was "The Awarding and Handing Over Session". The newly-appointed executives of all student associations were introduced and awarded Certificates of Appointment by Patrons of their respective associations. Later, the former Presidents of Student associations also handed over their role to the newly-appointed one.

Later Representative of Patrons, Ms. Dragana Ostic also gave a warm speech. She welcomed the new executives and explained the power of student associations. She emphasized on the importance of creating a community and working together by explaining what values an association member should possess.

The ceremony came to an end with Vote of Thanks given by Juliet Wanza Ndavi, Representative of 2023 Student Leaders and with a cheerful group photo of all the new executives, patrons, and representatives.

Earlier to the handing over ceremony, new student leaders went through a series of training sessions. The first training was held on March 13, with the aim of educating the newly-elected executives concerning the key roles of associations. The second day of the training was aimed to foster collaboration between each association and its Chinese counterparts. 6 Chinese students associations joined the second day of the training where they interact and share vital information with the international student associations.
