The International Medical Students Association of Jiangsu University (IMSA) recently held the second episode of its Chronicle Series on 28th January, 2023 between 3 to 5 pm. The event was held online with the objective of explaining how work experience provides an insight into practicing medicine and what being a health professional is really like.

The event was commenced with a warm welcome by the host who continued by introducing the Speaker: Dr. Evans Aboagye, who is also the Founding Member/ 1st President of IMSA.Dr. Evans signified how Chinese language and culture could make your learning rich and deep as there are communication problems and cultural differences while managing the patients. Making Chinese friends, communicating with other Chinese students were some of the suggestions given by Dr. Evans. An elaborative interactive session about working as a clinical practitioner in Ghana and China preceded the conclusion where the host summarized the wisdom bestowed by Dr. Evans. One must focus on clinical skills- which allows you to be clinically relevant. Like Dr. Evans rightly said- there are cultural differences which create problems for international students. Thus, we must try to blend in- One must try to actively participate in events to make the process easy for us. In this way we can manage our social and academic life.
