On December 15, 2022 Annual General Meeting for Overseas Education in Jiangsu University was held in the multi-functional hall of Youth Education Apartment. President Prof. Yan Xiaohong and Vice President Prof. Zhao Yutao attended the meeting, the leading group of international education, the head of the department of international student working group, the responsible leaders and foreign secretaries of international students' cultivation units, and the cadres at the section level and above of the Overseas Education College and Language and Culture Center attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Associate Prof. Huang Ting, Secretary of OEC CPC Branch.

Prof. Gao Jing, Dean of OEC, made a work report on "Grasping Opportunities for Development and Achieving Quality and Efficiency of Overseas Education", pointing out that in 2022, against the background of the unfavorable impact of the global epidemic, the university innovated its work ideas, actively served the national "One Belt and One Road" construction, improved the quality of education service management, and continued to be in the leading position in Jiangsu and well-known nationwide for its work on Overseas Education.

The meeting commended the advanced units of the 2022 overseas students enrollment work of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Environment and Safety Engineering, School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, School of Management, School of Finance and Economics, School of Arts and Letters, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and School of Life Sciences, etc. President Yan Xiaohong and Vice President Zhao Yutao presented awards to the representatives of the award-winning units. The School of Environmental and Safety Engineering, School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine and School of Management made an exchange of advanced experience in the work of overseas students.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong pointed out in his speech that the initiatives and achievements in cultivating international students have not only made positive contributions to the overall development of Jiangsu university, but also won JSU a good reputation at home and abroad. He pointed out that the construction of quality system and mechanism of education for international students should be completed, and asked all relevant units of the university to take quality as the core, promote development by quality and check the mechanism by quality, plan ahead, take active actions and form joint efforts to seize new opportunities for the development of education for international students in the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Prof. Zhao Yutao said that in 2022, overcoming multiple unfavorable external factors such as the impact of the epidemic, Jiangsu University has stabilized the scale of international students with academic qualifications, steadily improved the quality of international students' cultivation and continuously emerged outstanding international students. He pointed out that the education for international students should create win-win cooperation opportunities for "going out" enterprises and overseas students, improve the quality of students' cultivation, and achieve excellent results in the re-certification of the quality of higher education for international students with practical actions.
