September is indeed a month of appreciation and celebration. In China, the 10th of September marks a very significant day depicted as “Teachers’ Day” which is commemorated all over in China as well as preceded by the mid-autumn festival. The date set to honour the Teacher’s day is chosen to mark the celebration due to the similar pronunciation between the word 教师 (Teacher) and the two digits 9 (jiu) and 10 (shi) in the date.

On this Teacher’s day, Jewels International Ladies Association of Jiangsu University represented OECians in expressing our invaluable appreciation to our teachers for their relentless efforts in shaping our future.

A day before the Teachers' Day was a day filled with lots of joy, excitements and enthusiasm as students surprised the teachers by presenting their good-looking handmade cards to the teachers as well as express their heartfelt gratitude in word as an early celebration of Teachers’ Day.
