On August 30, 2022, The Closing Ceremony for International Training Programs on Agricultural Mechanization by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was held at Jiangsu University's Conference Center in conjunction with the Institute of Global Development and Security's opening ceremony.

The host of the ceremony, Prof. Gao Jing, Dean of Overseas Education College introduced and acknowledged all dignitaries present, including the students.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong, president of Jiangsu University, gave the opening address with a summary of the 5-month training course, which was divided into 8 modules with a variety of subjects, including modern agriculture power machinery, tractors, field management, food processing, agricultural product quality, greenhouse and equipment techniques, grain harvesters, water-saving irrigation theory and technology. The course included both in-class theoretical training and field site practical training. Students from various countries, including Ghana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana, Somalia, Central African Republic, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan and others participated in this program. After many months of diligent efforts from the instructors and students alike, the program was a big success.

A highlight video of key moments from the months of training was shown after the address, along with certificates presented to the students and instructors for successfully completing the program.

Following this, student representatives from Kenya and Nigeria, Ms. Juliet Wanza and Mr. Ekponoimo King Ibritam, recounted their experiences from the training course, stating that the program is a great source of learning about agriculture mechanization and the knowledge gained is a huge asset for our respective countries in improving the farming and agricultural sector.

Both Mr. Tinaye A. Chinhenzva from Zimbabwe and Mr. Muhammad Waqar Akram from Pakistan, who represented the students in the Harvesting Africa Agricultural Training and the China-Pakistan Modern Agricultural Innovation Institute shared their experiences throughout the course duration as well as the treasured knowledge gained from it. They expressed their desire to travel to China and actually participate in the practical learning opportunities and field trips.

Afterwards, representative instructors for the theoretical and practical courses, Mr. Chen Shuren and Mr. Zhao Menglong, respectively, added their perspectives on the program, their encounters with the OECians, and some suggestions on how to enhance and achieve maximum output in this course going forward.

Mr. Liu Furui, representative of International Cooperation Alliances on Agricultural Equipment and Overseas General Manager of World Group, also took to the stage and shed light on the importance of agricultural tools, how they boosted the industry in China and the benefits they hold for African countries, Pakistan, and other developing countries.

This led to the final segment of the event, the appointing of Mr. Xu Bu (Member of the United Nations Secretary General High-level Consultant Committee) as an Adjunct Professor and the unveiling ceremony of the Institute of Global Development and Security.

Mr. Xu Bu then shared his thoughts on the Agricultural Training Programs and some insightful commentary from his work experiences with various African countries.
