The session two (Part 1) of the Jiangsu University Meihua Forum on Belt and Road was held via online and offline modes on March 11, 2022, at 3:30 PM. The colloquium began with an exciting performance by Chinese and overseas teachers and students corresponding to the theme of "Beijing Winter Olympics 2022" —— Together for a Shared Future.

Ms. Cai Zhaohui, Vice Dean of Overseas Education College (OEC) of Jiangsu University (JSU) was the MC of the event and she introduced the dignitaries. Prof. Yan Xiaohong (President of JSU), Prof. Zhao Yutao (Vice President of JSU), Prof. Zhang Zongyi (Secretary General of the National Expert Group on Farmland Mechanization Transformation in Hilly and Mountainous Areas, Prof. of China Research Institute for Agricultural Equipment Industry Development of JSU) and other leaders from JSU.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong delivered an inspiring speech where he recalled the spirit of the Olympic Winter Games and recounted lots of achievements Jiangsu University has made in the past year. He encouraged students to join hands and continue working hard towards a shared future for JSU.

Ms. Yao Lingwei, Student of School of Teacher Education and Asian Cup Winning Female Team Football Athlete shared her spirit of the Olympics Winter Games with us, thanking her teachers and colleagues at Jiangsu University and inspiring us all to aim for great success through hard work and perseverance.

Following that, the winners of the "Together for a Shared Future-Understanding China Through the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022" Essay Contest were announced, and representative of the winners, Ms. Marcia-Anne Mpofu, shared her essay "How China, a Country of Many Firsts Hosted the 2022 Olympic Games" and highlighted many amazing facts related to the event.

Prof. Zhang Zongyi took over the podium for the theme speech and discussed the history, current state, and challenges of agricultural mechanization in China.

He said that in reality, agricultural mechanization has played a significant role in enhancing agricultural production capacity. While the agricultural labor force has shrunk tremendously, agricultural product output has skyrocketed. He also mentioned a number of obstacles to the advancement of agricultural mechanization, such as a paucity of crop supply, a small average operating scale that limits efficiency, to mention but a few. Consequently, the agricultural mechanization program has made significant progress since its inception and continues to close the gap with countries such as the United States and Europe.

The session was very well received by the students and we wish to have more such productive sessions by Meihua Forum in future.
