OEC Staff Visit Students to Share Anti-Epidemic Knowledge
Recently, due to the escalation of epidemic prevention and control caused by the COVID-19 situation in Nanjing Lukou Airport, the university has implemented strict management of the whole campus. In order to actively implement the relevant requirements of the school, strengthen the our international students’ understanding of the epidemic prevention and control policies, and also care about the daily life of the international students who live on campus, the teachers from the "Jiangsu University epidemic prevention and control working group for on-campus international degree students" went to the overseas dormitory buildings to visit our international students on August 2, 2021.
The working group was divided into two groups, separately led by Huang Ting, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC OEC Branch, and Cui Yong, Vice Dean of OEC. The teachers visited on-campus students from different countries, including Russia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Denmark, Ghana, India, Solomon, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Zambia, Cameroon, Burundi, D.R. Congo, and Malawi. The teachers explained the relevant policies about the school lockdown management during the epidemic patiently and carefully, cared about the daily life of international students, and asked for suggestions for the purchase of groceries and psychological consultation. Also it is mentioned that our students should continuously enhance their awareness of self-protection, keep the dormitory clean and ventilated, and actively cooperate with the school during the epidemic prevent and control.
Until August 3, 2021, there were a total of 369 on-campus international students in Jiangsu University. The Jiangsu University epidemic prevention and control working group for on-campus international degree students will continue to conduct regular dormitory visits and inspections in accordance with the school’s epidemic prevention and control work and the dormitory management requirements, and always pay attention to the life and study of international students.
On August 4th and 5th, in order to share new epidemic prevention and control knowledge with off-campus students, the “Jiangsu University epidemic prevention and control working group for off-campus international degree students” held a series of special meeting and visits. The emphasis was on epidemic prevention and control with the communities in Dingmao area, Zhenjiang.
At the special meeting with community staff, Gao Jing, Dean of the Jiangsu University Overseas Education College and leader of the off-campus working group, first stressed the responsibilities of the international students’ off-campus managers and encouraged them to actively cooperate with the school and the community in epidemic prevention and control. She pointed out that the current situation of epidemic prevention and control is still very complex. It is necessary to further work along with public security and communities, improve and implement the joint prevention and control mechanism, refine the work plan, and ensure the implementation of various epidemic prevention and control tasks.
The community staff introduced the off-campus managers to security staff of respective neighborhoods. Communities and off-campus managers hope to cooperate even better to make the life of international students and work load of community staff even more comfortable.
In addition, Cai Zhaohui, Vice Dean of the Jiangsu University Overseas Education College and deputy leader of the off-campus working group, led a team to visit the international students residing in Jingkou area.
She told them to maintain personal hygiene, reduce going out, strictly abide by the relevant management regulations during the epidemic prevention and control period. She encouraged students to timely communicate with their class teachers if they meet any trouble. She promised students that university and off-campus working group will do their best to satisfy the students’ comfortable stay.
